Janet is on the faculty of the Capella University School of Business and Technology, where she develops and teaches courses in leadership and team leadership. She practices what she teaches through Vision2Lead, Inc.; see projects. She is an active presenter of webinars and workshops.
In addition, Janet is involved with the arts in several ways. She serves on the editorial board and is a writer for the Kennedy Center’s Opening Stages publication; she is a site reporter for the National Endowment for the Arts Theater Program, and serves on the Boulder Arts Commission.

Research & Writing Current research interests focus on collaboration and leadership in the online world, and instructional methods for collaborative e-learning.
Author of three forthcoming books: Online Interviews in Real Time, Taxonomy of Online Collaboration: Theory and Application in E-Learning and Taxonomy of Online Collaboration: Theory and Applications in Leadership and Teams.
Co-editor with Lynn Wilson of the Handbook of Electronic Collaboration and Organizational Synergy.
Author of a chapter titled, "Expect Originality! Using Taxonomies to Structure Assignments that Support Original Work" in the forthcoming book: Student Plagiarism in an Online World: Problems and Solutions.
