This winter, with more time indoors, I decided to focus on still life. When I started to think about it, I was intrigued by the term itself: what does still life mean?
I used this question as a springboard for a journal I completed as part the Sketchbook Project with the Brooklyn Art Library. The hard copy will live in the museum, and the digital copy will live in their online library.

The paper was quite thin, so I inserted pages of watercolor paper. In addition to watercolor, I used colored pencils, pastels and conte crayons, batik on rice paper, pen and ink, and collage.
